Operations Excellence

Whether it’s service improvement, cost effectiveness or ensuring agile process, getting your operation right can make all the difference.

Driving improvement in operations has been at the core of my career.

Establishing clear structure, process (both physical and systemic), with clear relevant insight and reporting are the fundamental basics. Creating flow, removing blockages, and building agility into these operations creates the ability for operations to maintain control and flex to manage volatility of peak demand or simply the unexpected.

As the name suggests, it really is a chain, a chain of events that flow from one action to the other. Creating operations excellence is the focus of creating a seamless flow along the supply chain. From forecasting and planning, executing, through to reporting, reviewing, and monitoring of performance, with the right skills, process, and systems in place, the service your customers expect can be delivered, at the right price to ensure margins are protected.

My experience includes improving service to customers by 10%, reducing operations costs by more than 20%, and delivering year on year cost savings in excess of £40m.

“Dan has initiated the transformation journey of our supply chain operations across the Group in Asia. He inherited this function during a challenging period and was able to continuously improve the operations, introduced new initiatives/standards, developed supply chain competencies and hired good talents to lead our supply chain in each country we operate in.

Dan led the development and introduction of digitalised operational process in DC’s to drive productivity and accuracy and he delivered cost reductions in our value chain. He was a strong advocate of DKSH sustainability journey and introduced C02 measurement and reduction initiatives across the DKSH Supply Chain.

He very skillfully ensured no disruption in our supply chain during Covid allowing us to keep serving our customers during the crisis. Dan was always very close to his team, down to earth and employee centric. ”
